Bears, perhaps, I can see, but generally speaking… I wonder. (Having said that, I am curious about Druid lore as to why they look the way they do, because as far as I can fathom, it is an unusual iteration. But when it comes to the player character, who is by default the “unique” and “special” one anyway (else they wouldn’t be the protagonist of the story), restricting player choices in overall looks based on classes is just a very weird, very outdated design. Nothing wrong with wanting a default aesthetic for each class: meeting a group or even an individual of any of those as NPCs, it’s perfectly fine to have them look whatever way the creators imagined them. And on the flipside, there are those who’d like to play Druid but are alienated by the model, for one reason or another.

But I’m sure even among those who welcome it, there are those who’d prefer to play other classes, which in turn do not have this same body shape. I’ve seen a good number of posts praising the hell out of D4’s Druid for representation: whether it’s intentional or not, I would not want that taken away. I would not presume to say “fix fat” because that in itself is not the problem (and it potentially comes off as offensive, which really doesn’t help anyone’s case) - the problem is the lack of choice. If you ask me blizzard should let us chose our body type, like if you want to be ectomorph, mezomorph or endomorph, and how much muscle mass you want.Įxactly this.
